spacer Focus Behavioral Health offers a variety of workshops to help aid and support families as well as individuals affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders. These workshops are open to the general public and the curriculum is specifically designed to support individuals affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders. The workshops that are provided by Focus Behavioral Health include:




spacer spacer Relationship Workshop: An eight session course discussing social skills themes. Lessons include topics such as Appearance Matters, Relationships, Body Language, Starting Conversations, Getting to Know Someone, Rules and Laws, and What Does a Healthy Relationship Look Like. The course is directed by a master’s level clinician using the Social Signals “Mikes Crush” curriculum. The curriculum was developed by Nancy Nowell, MPA Med in Human Sexuality. Nancy has 35 years working with children, adolescents, and adults who are on the autism spectrum or have intellectual disabilities. Transportation is not provided. There is no charge for this workshop and it is open to the general public.




spacer Employment Workshop: A twelve session course discussing employment opportunities. Lessons include topics such as interview skills, Career planning, Resume Development, Employment Networking, Hygiene and Dress and Transportation. Job tryouts will be available and a mini job assessment will be provided through the course. The course will be directed by a mastered level clinician. The curriculum is designed for individuals on the autism spectrum. Transportation is not provided. There is no charge for this workshop and it is open to the general public.





spacer spacer Life Skills Workshop: Provides ongoing opportunities to learn Cooking, Cleaning, Budgeting, Grocery Shopping and other Activities of Daily Living. The group sessions last 2-4 hours and include a staffing ratio of 1 staff to 4 participants. The curriculum is designed for individuals on the autism spectrum. Transportation is not provided. There is no charge for this workshop and it is open to the general public.





spacer Social Groups: Provides ongoing opportunities for socialization and facilitate the participant’s social interaction while using natural supports and typical community services available to all people. The group sessions last 2-4 hours and include ten community activities with a staffing ratio of 1 staff to 4 participants. The intent of this service is to encourage participants to interact with peers in the community while building lasting friendships. Transportation is provided by staff and all activity costs are included in the fee.   There is a $50 fee per session.





Focus will assist each individual to find the appropriate workshop that meets their needs. Overall, Focus Behavioral Health helps each individual including the staff, family members, and client to reach their full potential.
